NVQ) Level 3 Diploma in installation and Commissioning

This Diploma in Installation and Commissioning is a competency-based qualification designed for individuals working within the engineering industry.

Suitable for learners aged 16 and over, the qualification welcomes individuals with the potential to meet the criteria outlined in its units.

This is the ideal qualification for experienced engineers / technicians already within the Compressed air and Vacuum industry and has now been recognised by the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) as an industry standard.

Course duration

Normally this course will take between a year to 18 months to complete.

NVQ Registration Process Explained

After you have registered for the EAL Level 3 NVQ in Installation and Commissioning, Qualification Number: 501/0733/1, you will be required to choose the units you wish to study.

There are four Mandatory Units:

  • QICM3/001 Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
  • QICM3/002 Using and interpreting engineering data and documentation
  • QICM3/003 Working efficiently and effectively in engineering
  • QICM3/004 Handing over and confirming completion of maintenance or installation activities

You must choose at least one of the optional units.  They are :

  • QICM3/016 Installing compressed air equipment (182 GLH)
  • QICM3/031 Commissioning compressed air equipment and systems (182 GLH)
  • QENM3/038 Maintaining compressed air systems and equipment (119 GLH)
    • (If you choose QENM3/038 you must also choose either QICM3/016 or QICM3/031 as well)
